Spring Cometh!

"No occupation is so delightful to me as the culture of the earth, and no
culture comparable to that of the garden."-- Thomas Jefferson

Spring has arrived in full force, and we wanted to share some of the great things happening at Fiat Farms with all of you! The guys are working hard every day, now, and planting has ramped up. They recently finished planting the season's potatoes, and we're *almost* done with those multitudinous onions!

The onions (see left) that we already planted are growing well. If you haven't seen the video where Casey and Kevin plant a row, click here to see it and learn more about the process!

You can expect several different varieties of onions this year, including green onions, sweet white onions, red onions, yellow onions, and more. We hope to grow leeks for the first time this year, as well.

What's Growing?

Here are some of the veggies you can look forward to this year! And please note that we're trying to make it to some farmer's markets before the season begins, as we don't have enough for everyone in the CSA yet, but we do have enough to sell at market. We hope to have enough to begin making our drops by late May! However, as noted in our recent Fiat Farms update email, you can buy the produce from us at the market and get 10% off of your tab if you are a member! You can even take it off your already existing tab; no need for cash! Also, both members and non-members can purchase produce right here on the farm--just stop by (for those of you who can).

Hover over the pictures to read more about them.

One Last Thing...

Get ready, meat lovers!  Something for those of you who are not vegetarians or vegans to look forward to in the future...pork!  We hope to have pork to sell by late summer, although there's a possibility it might be a little earlier.

Our first pork chop from the first pigs we raised this past year. It made for an epic Sunday dinner!
We hope you will join us if you haven't already this year! Thanks for reading!
